GPS on Bell Phones

I recently purchased the LG rumour 2 to upgrade my phone from the original LG rumour on the Bell network. Unfortunately I ran into the same issue as I did with the original LG rumour: GPS on Bell phones do not provide provide you with a system that is able to show your global position. When the GPS app it attempts to load it freezes for 5 minutes and then eventually opens up. Unfortunately that's where it ends. I initially thought the issue was with my phone but when the problem was prevelant with my new phone I had my suspisions that the problem might rest on Bell's network. I checked out a friends phone who had not yet used the GPS because of the cost, considering it would run someone $4 a day or $10 a month who is not subscribed for GPS. We payed the $4 only to be disappointed once again. This test proved to me one thing: I should consider myself lucky to not have to wait 10 minutes but rather only 5 minutes for the GPS on my phone. My other phone, blackberry Pearl, is on the Rogers network and I have never had an issue with the GPS on that phone. I have contacted Bell and run a diagnostic test on both ends. The conclusion they came to was that the error must be with the phone. Yes that is right. After explaining that I have experienced this issue on every Bell phone I tested, the tech assistant chose to blame the hardware. When either the service sucks or you can't explain the problem, blame the hardware in the possession of the customer.
It's a good thing i negotiated the monthly subscription charges of GPS to be reimbursed for the entire 36 months of my contract before signing up :D.
